We have been raising very carefully some wild grass in our land.
It is Cattail.
The roots grow up beside water and the flower is 20 cm long and brown, looks like a big Frankfurt Sausage.
Once people in Japan poured oil into it and used it as a candle.
I thought, though, it was called Frankfurt Sausage in English, it is called ‘Cattail’ in American English and ‘Bulrush’ in British English.
Now that I come to think of it, you can find another wild grass, called ‘Tiger Tail’ in our land.
